PQRS GPRO Registration Now Open

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

PQRS 101The PV-PQRS (Physician Quality Reporting System) Registration system is now open for provider groups of 2+ to register to report in the PQRS in 2015 as a Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO). GPRO reporting eases the burden of reporting on groups by allowing the group to report nine (9) measures over three (3) NQS domains for the entire group.

Although there is no registration to participate in PQRS as an individual, groups who wish to participate as a GPRO must indicate their intent as well as their reporting method before June 30, 2015 11:59 ET.

In order to have access to the PV-PQRS Registration System, one person from the group will need to obtain an Individuals Authorized Access to the CMS Computer Services (IACS) account with the correct role to log into the PV-PQRS Registration System. Step-by-step instructions for obtaining an IACS account and registering for PQRS GPRO are available on the PQRS GPRO Registration website portal.cms.gov.

Failure to report PQRS in 2015 will result in a -2% penalty on Medicare reimbursement in 2017 for all eligible providers. In addition, physician groups with 2 or more EPs must meet the criteria to avoid the 2017 PQRS payment adjustment in order to also avoid the automatic 2017 VM downward payment adjustment (-2.0% or -4.0% depending on the group’s size) and qualify to earn VM adjustments based on performance.
