Submission Periods Open for Most 2014 PQRS Data

Providers using the Direct EHR method, Clinical Quality Data Registry or a Data Submission Vendor have until February 28, 2015, to submit their PQRS measures data to CMS. Providers using a PQRS Registry have until March 31, 2015 to submit their PQRS measures data to CMS; however, keep in mind that PQRS registries often have internal deadlines for data submission.

Groups reporting via Web Interface must submit their data by March 20, 2015. Please work with your EHR, Data Submission Vendor, or Registry to ensure you get your 2014 PQRS data submitted in time to avoid the -2% payment adjustment in 2016.

An Individuals Authorized Access to CMS Computer Services (IACS) account with the “PQRS Submitter Role” is required for these PQRS data submission methods. Please see the IACS Quick Reference Guides for specifics.

PQRS provides an incentive payment to individual eligible professionals (EPs) and group practices that satisfactorily participate or satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) services. Additionally, those who do not meet the 2014 PQRS reporting requirements will be subject to a negative payment adjustment on all Medicare Part B PFS services rendered in 2016.
