Managing Advisor-Lean Facilitator
Elaine McCracken serves as Managing Advisor/Lean Facilitator-Process Improvement for Purdue Healthcare Advisors. In this role, she teaches and guides hospitals and healthcare agencies throughout Indiana and the Midwest as they adopt lean methodologies.
Prior to joining Purdue, Elaine worked for the Veterans Health Administration facilitating improvement efforts nationwide in supply chain, rural health and community- and hospital-based specialty clinics. Elaine has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare and education, including hospital, health system, public health and university settings. She has led transformation and change through designing, developing and coordinating operations and performance improvement focused on healthcare quality, safety and operational outcomes. Elaine has experience with department and facility leadership, and project management with specific emphasis on performance improvement and system-redesign concepts. She has lead collaborative multi-disciplinary healthcare performance-improvement initiatives resulting in measurable institutional transformation.
Elaine completed Medical Technology School at Loyola University Medical Center; earned bachelor’s degrees in both biology and industrial engineering technology from Purdue; and earned an MBA from Indiana University.
