Lead Advisor, Lean Healthcare

Jonathan Chalfant

Jonathan Chalfant, LSSBB, LGC serves as Lead Advisor, Lean Healthcare for Purdue Healthcare Advisors.

Prior to joining Purdue Healthcare Advisors, Jonathan worked as a senior leader at IU Health, transforming operations across the state as Director of Environmental Services. During his time there, he was responsible for leading and providing the training, coaching, facilitation and development for hospital-based, strategic, high-impact process improvement initiatives. He led the design of a new Critical Access Hospital, a project in which he helped ensure that the layout supported the desired workflows for all the departments. He led the facilitation of a 44,000-square-foot, full scale cardboard mock-up of the new hospital in which providers and team members ran “day in the life” scenarios and designed the space for optimal functionality and quality patient care. The process improvement events led by Jonathan have captured millions of dollars of savings and increased profitability as well as improved the staff and patient experience.

Prior to his time with the healthcare industry, Jonathan managed Lean and Six Sigma projects in manufacturing. He also was a licensed Emergency Medical Technician in Missouri for six years, working on an ambulance, in an emergency department, and in an operating room. His clinical experience guides his passion for helping others improve patient care.

Jonathan received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University’s College of Technology in the School of Technology Leadership and Innovation.  He also holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) and is Lean Gold certified (LGC).
