Managing Director for Health Systems Innovation, Purdue Healthcare Advisors
Julia “Julie” Smalley, MBA, MHA, RN, serves as Managing Director for Purdue Healthcare Advisors (PHA). In this role, she is a strategic partner to the Director and a key member of the leadership team responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the delivery of a portfolio of healthcare services. Julie is responsible for innovation of new services as well as developing proposals for new and expanded offerings. She provides direct supervision and coaching of leaders, program planning, and evaluation of services.
Prior to joining PHA, Julie’s career as a healthcare executive developed through progressive leadership and administrative experiences in clinical, quality, and innovative care delivery technology. She has worked in a variety of settings, from start-up companies to major health systems.
She is a trained Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator (Strategic Doing™) and has served as Baldrige Examiner® on the national Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners. Julie also holds certifications in Six Sigma (Lean Black Belt); Patient Experience (CPXP); and the CMS Bundled Payment Program.
Julie earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Ball State University (’84) and an MBA and MHA from University of Phoenix Arizona (’05). She is a registered nurse with a focus in critical care.
