Senior Advisor, Lean Facilitator
Christopher D. Chapman, MML, serves as Senior Advisor, Lean Facilitator at Purdue Healthcare Advisors (PHA). In this role, Chris teaches and advises hospitals and healthcare agencies throughout Indiana and the Midwest that are in various stages of their lean journey.
Prior to joining PHA, Chris served in various capacities including management, quality engineering, and lean process improvement (trainer, consultant, practitioner, and coach). He worked in a broad range of industries including global automobile component manufacturing, imaging, higher education (private technical university), and a premier international continuous-improvement association. He has helped organizations develop their workforce into effective problem solvers, continuous improvement agents, and lean thinkers that integrate lean process improvement into their day-to-day operations to increase efficiency, reduce waste, increase value, and improve customer satisfaction.
As a lean consultant, Chris has developed and delivered lean training workshops for thousands of trainees, facilitated dozens of rapid improvement events, trained and coached Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt students to complete certification requirements, and provided consultation to small and medium sized businesses in upstate New York. He was also part of a team that helped develop The Environmental Professional's Guide to Lean and Six Sigma for the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Chris holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with honors from Fayetteville State University; a master's degree in manufacturing leadership from the Kate Gleason College of Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology; and a certified Lean Six Sigma Management Black Belt. Additionally, he has written articles for leading trade journals such as Quality Progress, Institute of Industrial Engineers, and Occupational Hazards.
